Veneers - Pleasanton, CA
Thinking about getting a smile makeover? Our Pleasanton cosmetic dental veneers provide one of the quickest ways to dramatically enhance the way your teeth look. Porcelain veneers are thin shells of ceramic that bond directly to the front and top surfaces of the teeth. They are an ideal choice for improving your smile and have become increasingly popular due to their simplicity and versatility. With veneers as an alternative, there is no reason to put up with gaps between your teeth, teeth that are stained, poorly shaped, or crooked. A veneer placed on top of your teeth can correct these maladies, simply and quickly, to help you achieve a beautiful smile!
Should I Get Porcelain Veneers?
Have you ever wanted a perfect smile, but wanted results without long-term orthodontic care, teeth whitening, and more? Porcelain veneers may be the right choice for you. Porcelain veneers are common among patients who seek to fix:
- Teeth that are discolored, whether from a root canal treatment, stains from tetracycline or other drugs, excessive fluoride, or the presence of large resin fillings that have changed the color of the tooth
- Teeth that are worn down
- Teeth that are chipped or broken
- Teeth that are misaligned, uneven, or irregularly shaped
- Teeth with significant gaps between them
Our Pleasanton Porcelain Veneer Procedure
Getting porcelain veneers involves three stages: The planning, the preparation visit, and the final placement.
During your first visit, we’ll discuss what you want to address and the type of expectations you have. Feel free to bring in photos of smiles you like (or dislike) to give us an idea of what you’re looking for. From there, we’ll take a set of photos, x-rays, and maybe even a couple of impressions. Our financial coordinators will also review your insurance and payment options.
Once you choose to go ahead with treatment, we'll schedule you for a prep appointment. We'll slightly adjust your enamel's thickness during this visit so that veneers can bond over them without creating excess bulk. The impressions are then taken and sent directly to our lab. A dental lab technician then creates custom veneers with teeth molds and color-matches them to the patient's teeth.
During your final visit, the shells are bonded to the patient's teeth using special dental cement. For composite resin veneers, we remove the tooth enamel first. The composite resin, which matches the natural enamel, covers and reshapes the teeth to improve the appearance. Next, a special light seals the resin to the underlying teeth. Finally, we file the veneers to achieve a natural appearance.
